Private Label Food Packaging Program

The Everyday Staples category gave me the opportunity to design packaging across multiple food and pantry product lines. From multi-SKU label systems to conceptual brand explorations, my role included working directly with buyers, adapting vendor dielines, researching trends, and presenting cohesive solutions for store rollout. While not all concepts made it to store shelves, the work illustrates my ability to balance conceptual creativity with retail-ready execution.

Olives & Peppers
What I Did:
Created a full label system for a line of Mediterranean-inspired products, ranging from manzanilla and salad olives to pepperoncinis. Designs required flexibility across jar sizes and clear communication of product type while maintaining a consistent shelf identity.
Process:
•Built adaptable templates to handle multiple SKUs.
•Balanced color, typography, and imagery to ensure strong shelf impact.
•Coordinated with buyers to align flavor labeling and naming conventions.
Outcome:
This line was selected for in-store placement, providing Big Lots with a recognizable, consistent product family in the pantry aisle.

Carbonated Water
What I Did:
Designed branding and packaging for a multi-flavor sparkling water line, covering both plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Extended designs to secondary packaging, including 12-pack cases.
Process:
•Created flavor-specific color palettes while maintaining overall brand consistency.
•Adapted artwork for multiple dielines (bottles, cans, cartons).
•Developed mockups to demonstrate real-world presence.
Outcome:
Provided Big Lots with a scalable system for a growing beverage category. Though the project was concept-driven, it showcased my ability to handle multi-format beverage packaging.

•Created both mockups and flat label explorations to present range.
Outcome:
While exploratory, the breadth of design options illustrated strategic range and adaptability to shifting buyer needs.
